This month's character is Marilla Cuthbert from Anne of Green Gables. Seemingly strict at first, Marilla warms up to Anne over the course of the book. Marilla is a very practical, matter-of-fact, down to earth person who doesn't appreciate nonsense or Anne's constant chatter. She ends up caring for the girl that her brother brought home though it would probably take a fair amount of persuasion to get her to admit that.
